Following extended discussions with Pastor dave and among the council members of the individual congregations on Sunday, May 17, the councils voted to authorize a resart of worship services in all churches with strict recommedations to maintain safe and sanitary conditions, including complete social distancing and the wearing of masks. Communion hosts will be provided in individual, uncontaminated servings upon entrance to the sanctuary, and extra masks and sanitizer will be provided. Seating areas in pews will be blocked off to provide safe distancing and high-touch areas such as railings and doorknobs will be sanitized and limited in use, as will bathrooms. Certain areas with possibly hieghtened exposure such as the balconies will be off-limits. Hymn singing will be eliminated for now due to the increase in aerosol loads of contaminants in the air from that activity. Services will be shortened as well with simplified liturgy and reduced spoken prayers in unison.
